What Can a Business Automate With AI First?

What Can a Business Automate With AI First?

October 31, 2026

Almost every business has work that is repeated, slow and dull. The hard question is where to start. Choosing the wrong first process can waste effort and make people doubt the whole idea. Here is a simple way to choose, and some examples.

Signs of a good first process

  • It repeats often, in much the same way.
  • It uses information that already exists in documents, emails, sheets or systems.
  • Today it takes people time that they would rather spend on judgement.
  • There are clear points where a person can check the result.
  • One person can own it.

Examples by function

Sales and marketing. Finding the right prospects when something changes in their business, preparing first messages, planning a content calendar, building graphics, and reporting on performance. A person approves anything that is sent or published.

Operations. Production planning, resource planning, vendor shortlisting, materials and inventory tracking, quality reports, and scheduled monitoring reports.

Finance. Month-end reporting, reconciliations, management packs.

Procurement. Quotation requests, comparisons, approval routing.

People. Recruitment sourcing and scheduling, onboarding steps, internal queries.

Customer support. Sorting tickets and preparing draft replies for review.

Compliance. Tracking obligations and deadlines, collecting evidence for review.

Documents. Reading and extracting from invoices, contracts, forms and reports.

These are examples of what can be designed. Whether a process suits automation depends on your data and your rules.

What should stay with people

Decisions that carry risk: approving payments, publishing content, sending messages to customers, changing contracts. In a well-designed engine, these have named approvers.

How to prepare

  1. Write the process down as it works today, including the exceptions.
  2. List the systems and documents it touches.
  3. Name the owner and the approvers.
  4. Decide what better means for you: less effort, lower cost, faster turnaround. We say “designed to” because the result depends on your process.

Start from the problem

Yugantaka starts with the problem statement and your current approach, then designs, builds and delivers the engine, with playbooks so your team can run it. You own what is built. Read about our AI automation services, or write to info@yugantaka.com or call +91 831 887 1275.
